Remember the Rebel in Udine, Italy

Het pop-up museum komt aan in Udine, Italië

From mid-July, the last stage of the Remember the Rebel pop-up museum will be set up in the historic center of the city of Udine, in north-eastern Italy.

The museum will be hosted by the “V. Joppi” civic library, an important cultural center of the city: a place of study, encounter and workshop.

The pop-up museum will be open until September, with the aim of offering citizens and visiting tourists an opportunity to encounter the 'rebel stories' while living the space of the library and the library's events, becoming part of the city's cultural offering during the summer.

The exhibition is the conclusion of a series of events that started in September 2023. Partner organization IoDeposito organized workshops for different target groups: artistic and creative activities for children; workshops with international artists for adults. The theme of rebellion was a common thread through all activities.

“It is important to reread pages from a recent past”, declares Chiara Isadora Artico, of IoDeposito. “The rebels depicted in the exhibition leave behind important legacies. For example, the feminist story of Franca Viola can serve as a great source of inspiration for young girls today.”
